I’m slowly returning to something approximating a rhythm after nearly a month and a half of absolute chaos.

Most of my time has been acting as a grief counselor, logistics wrangler, emotional support clown, part-time cook, and stuffer of moving pods. I get about a week off from that before having to do a bit more of the post tragedy cleanup.

The heat wave that’s been thumping the globe is scheduled to land on us starting tomorrow. We’ve done everything we can to prepare, including making a lot of food which can be eaten without heating or cooking. We plan on staying hydrated and as safe as we can, and I hope if you’re feeling the heat you do the same.

This is a really quick update between the ongoing pile of tragedies I’ve been helping to wrangle

During some sleepless nights, I read some fantastic articles. I’ve added them to the ‘consumed’ section of my now page.

At the moment I’m doing alright. I have been feeling and managing the edges of physical and emotional fatigue as best I can. There’s still a lot to do, and I’ve got about a week before I’m armpits deep in it again.

So for now, rest…and gratitude for the friends who have quietly reached out to check on my family of choice. <3
