A friend found an old dot matrix printer, and decided to create a zine about inspiring creativity. When they asked me to submit a page for the project, I dug this silly game out of my archives.

Here at the clown house, we often play a silly little game which we call “You Good Dog”

Play is simple:

1. Repeat the phrase to your fellow players.
2. The first one to say anything else loses.
3. The player who started the round shouts, “I win!”
4. Other players can (and do) shout, “You win!”

I did say it was a silly game.

Now, here’s the fun part: variations count! Different phrasings, emphases, languages? All good.

We’ve even played variations via chat.

That silliness led to posts with recorded morse code, upside-down Unicode text, and hand-drawn Elian script.

They were all grand fun, and reminded us of a crucial fact:

Simple play can encourage creativity.
